YEAR 9 DRAMA OBJECTIVES:

  1. Context – Use Imagination

3.  Form -        Use strategies (exploring)

                        Use elements  (Shape/structure)

5. Negotiated means –

                          Use discussion and role play

                           Apply knowledge to influence the developing Drama

6. Reflection -    Use knowledge of feelings/behaviour

Ø      Vandals attack historic chapel.

Ø      Little Rock Arkansas 1957

Ø      Blood Brothers by Willy Russell

Ø      Romeo and Juliet

Ø      Tutankhamun

Ø      ‘Missing Dan Nolan’ by Mark Wheeler

Ø      The Missing child – Claire Pender

Ø      Bullying

Ø      Trialling for GCSE

 Examples of home learning tasks that may be set as part of these units of study include:

Ø      Homework tasks will ask for research to extend knowledge of topics such as Commedia – See the quiz at www.balbydrama.4t.com , Romeo and Juliet (Research use of Venetian masks in C.16th) Tutankhamun (Research tomb opening, sudden deaths and curse)

Ø      Writing scripts and evaluating group work.

Ø      Reading extracts of scripts and annotating them

Ø      Creating time-lines and graphs of characters lives

Ø      Posters containing information on the topic.

Ø      Character profiling

Ø      Costume and set design
